Marlene Douglas-Walsh – Vice President of Behavioral Services
Marlene Douglas-Walsh is a healthcare executive with extensive experience in organization dynamics and continuous quality improvement. She has more than 30 years working in medical/surgical, psychiatric hospitals and residential substance use disorders programs at both the inpatient and outpatient levels of care. Ms. Douglas-Walsh has served in various senior leadership positions such as Hospital Administrator, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, Assistant Vice President of Professional Services as well as functioned as Regulatory Director for clinical trials. She has proven herself to be a leader in the healthcare arena.
Returning to The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard (formerly North Philadelphia Health System), after 14 years, where she previously served from 1995-2009 in various leadership positions, Ms. Douglas-Walsh has now assumed the role of Vice President of Behavioral Health Services. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) who holds a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Information Management. For the past 20 years, Ms. Douglas-Walsh has focused her efforts on harm-reduction strategies in behavioral health and is an advocate for open access to care.
In her role as Vice President of the Behavioral Health Services Ms. Douglas-Walsh is responsible for leadership and oversight of the inpatient (Acute, Extended Acute & Sub-Acute Psychiatric Programs) and outpatient programs (Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Programs which includes Medication Assisted Treatment Programs) and Non-hospital Residential Substance Use Disorder Services. Ms. Douglas-Walsh works with the clinical and administrative teams to support the mission of the Behavioral Wellness Center by promoting evidence-based and recovery-focused behavioral health services that inspire hope and transform lives.
